I’m Malcolm and along with my wife Nicola, we run A-Z Flooring in Newtown in Wellington, New Zealand.

We have an awesome team of Project Managers, Sales Consultants and Installation crews that love getting projects completed on time and within budget.

A-Z Flooring was established in 1998 and I am a 2nd generation flooring guy. It’s in my blood. It’s what I know.

I personally LOVE the tricky, the complicated, “how do I make that happen” type of projects. Keeps me on my toes. Contact me with your crazy idea and let’s see if it’s possible.

Outside of flooring I really like traveling, particularly on motorcycles. Making new stories from adventures with my family and mates is something I’m always striving for. When I’m not making new stories I’m making music, also with family and mates. I try to live life to the fullest.

Hi, my name is Nicola and I, along with my husband own A-Z Flooring.

I look after the accounts, answer the phones and I enjoy being in the showroom.

It has been a fun doing this since 2006. I’ve got to meet some really cool people and have helped many to choose the right flooring for their homes, and workplaces. As we have a lot of repeat customers I have enjoyed catching up them each time they come in.

There is a lot of variety in my job, from the small to the large and everything in between.

A little about me. I am a mother of three gorgeous young women and am heavily involved in the game of Squash and over the years have played, coached and been on committees at both club and regional level.

I love reading, especially thrillers but my all time favourite book is Jane Eyre and have read it many times. I have a small library at home and I can have at least two to three books on the go at any one time.

I also love traveling and exploring our wonderful country and the countries of the world.

I have done the classic OE trip in a VW Combi around Southern Europe, to exploring out of the way places in New Zealand with my husband as a pillion on a Victory Vision motorbike called Rosie.

Lots of stories to tell, and I really enjoy talking to people about their adventures.

Hi there!

I’m Scott, and I am the Operations manager here at A-Z Flooring.

I’m the guy that coordinates all of the aspects of the job of getting your flooring looking awesome. I book the installation dates, organise the right installation teams to come to your place and liaise with all of the other trades, tenants, or people involved to make sure the jobs go as smoothly as possible. It’s a full on all day non-stop for me as we have up to 90 jobs on the go at any one time so that’s a lot of balls to keep juggling.

I’m a vinyl installer by trade and still get to keep my hand in from time to time. However in my spare time I like to play Darts to keep my eye in.

I’m Michael and I’m A-Z’s in house Flooring Technician. I originate from Wagga Wagga in Australia and still speak Aussie. In fact I’m one of two Aussies here at A-Z, so the boss must know all the good flooring people come from the other side of the ditch! (Joking)

I moved to New Zealand with my partner and continued to follow my passion for Flooring. I love the variety of jobs I get to do. I install carpet, carpet tiles, vinyl, LVT, Vinyl Planking. My real buzz is seeing the room or a house transform and know that I did that is pretty cool. Seeing the faces of the clients when they see the finished job is always a bonus. It’s always a wow and I can tell that what I’ve done has made their lives better.

Outside of work I like fishing, camping, being with family and having a beer with my mates. Having not been here in NZ for too long I’m really looking forward to seeing lots of new places and I’m looking forward camping around the country and catching some fish.

My name is Cass and I’m a project manager for A-Z Flooring.

Since taking on the role of Project Manager at A-Z flooring I’ve loved meeting many new people. Helping them achieve the devise visions whilst learning all the different tricks and solutions is a real pleasure. I love getting to know my clients and hearing how pleased they are with the final result!

I have spent the last 5 years working as a foreman in the civil industry where I was working on with North Power, Downer Power and Gas as well as John Holland, where I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Wellington Station overhead renewal during the Christmas, New Year break of 2019/2020.

In my spare time I am the manager of my son’s Rugby League team and I Volunteer as Treasurer for the Upper Hutt Tigers Rugby League Club. I also enjoy playing netball (all versions of it), camping, cooking and going on adventures with my son, and have been making the most of seeing what this beautiful country has to offer.

Hi everyone I’m Ross!

I’m the storeman here at A-Z Flooring and I have been working here since 2010. I’m the longest serving employee here and have been her since Malcolm & Nicola took over the business.

My job is to get all the materials ready for the installers to collect and install at your place. So I’m always busy loading and unloading trucks and vans with carpet, vinyl, timber, underlay etc.

When I’m outside work I enjoy a bit of horse racing and I’ve been involved with a couple of syndicates and have had some minor successes.

 

I’m Tim, and although I’m relatively new to the flooring industry, I’ve spent many years in the world of home furnishings. I truly enjoy helping people with their flooring projects, and I’ve quickly learned that no two jobs are the same. Each project is unique, and I love putting them together and assisting folks in making the best choices.

I live on the Kapiti Coast, so I’m happy to provide quotes for work in that area, as well as throughout the Wellington Region.

Outside of work, I spend my time running around after my two teenage children, who keep me plenty busy. I’m sure many of you can relate to how much of your time they can take up!

I’m Tremain, and I’ve been part of the A-Z team since 2022, starting my journey in the showroom. Over time, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to transition into an apprentice flooring technician role. In the past year and a half on the tools, I’ve gained extensive knowledge and developed a genuine passion for the trade.

Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my family, watching NRL and UFC, and gaming. I’m also a devoted foodie who loves cooking, dining out, and exploring new kai.

Hi Everyone!

I’m Zane, a flooring technician here at A-Z Flooring. I’m not usually one for talking much about myself, but here’s a bit about me.

I joined A-Z Flooring in January 2024 after completing my apprenticeship, eager to expand my skills. Previously, I focused mainly on commercial flooring installations, but now I work on both residential and commercial projects. I’m really enjoying the variety and being part of a larger team, collaborating with the rest of the installation crew.

Recently, I became a brand new dad, which has been a wonderful change in my life. I love spending time with my baby girl and watching her grow. When I’m not at home, you can often find me on a golf course, indulging in my passion for the game.

My name is Geno, and I’m proud to be an apprentice flooring technician at A-Z Flooring. Under the guidance of Malcolm and Nicola, I’ve found a supportive and enriching environment to grow my skills. I genuinely enjoy my job and working alongside such a fantastic team.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with friends and family. I’m passionate about outdoor activities like fishing and diving, and I’m an avid sports fan—Rugby, Boxing, and MMA are my favourites. I also enjoy cooking and gaming in my free time.
